How much does Mad Puck cost?Mad Puck is a free download and the majority of features are free to use. There are a very small number of banner ads in the app (often 3+ levels deep in the app). The ads are intended to help cover some of the costs of running the service. We don't have any larger sized or video ads in the app, and hope to keep it that way. We offer 2 sets of premium features - Premium Fan subscription and Premium Team subscription. A premium team subscription adds features for that specific team and that benefits all members on the team. A premium fan subscription adds features that benefit only the fan that upgraded across all teams they are a member of. The features included in the non-premium (free) version of Mad Puck required extensive development efforts over a 5 year time period. Subscribing to one or more of the premium plans supports that effort, ongoing server costs and maintenance and building out new features. Thank you for considering a subscription - we have a long list of novel features that we know you'll love!

I'm having issues joining a team.Ensure you are using a mobile device - specifically an Android or Apple smartphone. Mad Puck is only supported on mobile devices and won't work on a desktop computer. If you are on a mobile device, you may have issues if you are using the Firefox web browser - but don't worry, it's not difficult to resolve the issue! For completeness, there are a lot of instructions below - but don't worry it's really just as simple as "Turn on a setting in Firefox and click on the link again" :) If you are seeing the desktop version of the Google Play store in the firefox browser when you click on the invite link, this is likely what the issue is. You might be able to download Mad Puck using this method because Google Play Store will allow you to schedule a download to your device. But you will still have issues with actually joining the team, so it's better to follow the steps below. This issue is due to the fact that the team invite link used to join a Mad Puck team requires the browser to launch apps to properly download and direct the link to the Mad Puck application. For example if you don't have Mad Puck installed it will take you to the Google Play Store to download Mad Puck, and if you do have it installed it takes you to Mad Puck in order to process the team invite. To resolve this issue 1. Open the Firefox browser 2. Click on the menu (vertical ... bottom right of the screen) and select "Settings" 3. Scroll down, and near the bottom click on "Open links in apps". Select "Ask before opening". 4. Click back to save and exit firefox. 5. Click on the team invite link you received from your coach (should start with https://madpuck.page.link) 6. A firefox window will be opened (possibly inside the app you are currently in) and prompt you "Open in another app / Would you like to leave Firefox to view this content? / Cancel / Open". 7. Choose open. 8. If you don't have Mad Puck already installed, it will launch the Google Play application and load the Mad Puck page. Click "Install". After the install you may need to go back to the team invite link and click on it again (see next step). 9. If you have Mad Puck installed, it will launch the Mad Puck application. If you see the "Scheduling made easy" screen, sign in. Once signed in it will automatically send a request for you to join the team. 10. Once your coach approves you to join the team you will receive a notification that you have been added to the team. If you are still having issues please contact us at info@madpuck.com

Is there a way to just count shots?Yes. You can do so by enabling "Simple shot entry". This is a great feature for teams that only care about the number of shots, for when you are just getting started with Mad Puck or maybe when your stats team is on vacation and you are tracking everything yourself. To turn it on, from the "Track events" screen, select the "Shots" tab, click the settings icon at the top right of the screen and turn on "Simple shot entry". When turned on, you only track the number of shots per team - shot location and player info is not entered. Simple shot entry is a global setting, so once turned on it will be on for all games which you score until you turn it off again. The live play-by-play still shows the shots that were taken, but doesn't show which player took the shot (or which goalie made the save). Don't forget to hit the "GOAL" button below the rink if the shot you just entered was a goal!
